Statement of Gratitude: Perspective
Once again, in the blink of an eye, we near the end of another year gone, a rollercoaster ride of personal growth and experience, and another chapter in the lively novel of Macey.
I reflect on so many things that I am grateful for in 2017. My incredible mother (my best friend) and my wonderful family, for allowing me to chase my dreams with the knowledge that no matter what obstacles life throws at me, I will have their full support and unconditional love. This pretty much means I’m invincible!
I am grateful for being a professional athlete. This pathway doesn’t only allow me to feel fit, strong and empowered at times, but has also taught me the power of positive thinking and the amazing things you can achieve if you decide to truly believe in yourself. I am so thankful for the life-long friendships I have built with teammates and the bonds we have formed over true passion for a common goal. I am surrounded with love.
Most of all, I am grateful for the hurdles and adversity I have experienced which have forced me to put life into perspective. I can now appreciate how lucky I am to be alive and living this wonderful life, and have learnt that when you take a step back to look at the ‘big picture’, the only things that truly matter in life are your health, your happiness and your people!
Throughout this special festive season and into 2018, I summarise the three biggest things I have learnt in 2017 for you to remember:- Look after your HEALTH; it is your number one asset. - Use PERSPECTIVE. It makes it easy to remember what is truly important in life. - Tell your loved ones you LOVE them! Life is too short!
Lots of love,
